The current giant and top online advertising network provider is non other than Google (enjoying 44.1% market share [source: GO-Gulf.com]). Of course, the other social media giant, Facebook is gaining its momentum in the online advertising space as well. Google Acquired Motorola for USD12.5b

The hottest business news today (15/08/2011) probably goes to the acquisition of Motorola by the search engine giant, Google. With this drastic move, it means that Google now owned the biggest manufacturer of their mobile operating system, Android. It also means that there would be more synergy of mobile marketing in the making!

Larry Page, CEO of Google, is optimistic this will benefit everyone. He writes on its corporate blog that "together, we will create amazing user experiences that supercharge the entire Android ecosystem for the benefit of consumers, partners and developers everywhere."

I personally view that it is a positive news for the internet marketing community as a whole. At the minimum, it means that mobile marketing has great potential ahead of us and Google is capable of creating a limitless synergy between their full suite of products (Google+, Adsense, Adwords, Blogger etc...) within the smartphones.

Of course, the success of this major move is yet to be seen but since it is deemed as the biggest deal Google has ever made, I would expect Google to make it happen in a huge way. After Google+, this is the next-next big thing in the mobile scene.

As it is, Google is already everywhere in the internet scene. In the near future, Google will be everywhere in the mobile world as well! Watch-out Apple!

Cheers!

The Next Big Thing in IM : Google+

In Internet Marketing, social media or social network sites are an important piece of jigsaw puzzle to your overall internet marketing venture. Thus, it is a force that cannot be ignored. Soon, there will be another HUGE platform coming into picture and I am sure it will create a great impact to your internet marketing action.

Google+, is the answer to facebook by Google, the search engine giant! It is currently in intensive trial stage and stay tune for this forthcoming great thing. For sneak preview of what Google+ has to offer, do check-out my post below:

The Next Big Thing

I personally view that Internet Marketers can tap on the following features of Google+ to increase their visibility on this new social network and/or overall search ranking in Google:

1. Circles - Unlike Facebook, Circles allow you to easily group your friends into different circles so that you can share the pertinent message/information to selected circles only. It is beneficial for target marketing especially if you can incorporate your "list" as your circles!

2. Sparks - It allows you to search and save any articles, video, audio (or anything at all) of your interest so that you can read it later. Better still, you can share it with your friends or circles of friends. It is a great place to "promote" your website/blogs.

3. Hangouts - This is the platform for you and your friends to be on video chat while on the move. If it's taken off well, could be a potential platform for placement of ads or affiliate programs of your choice.

Enjoy your social media marketing venture and keep learning.

Cheers!

The World's Most Popular/Visited Sites?

Information is KING, especially in the Internet Marketing world. The entire web/Internet is our market. Thus, any information/resources gained  pertaining to the web/Internet will be an added advantage to us.

If you are a beginner in Internet Marketing, I believed your daily routine will involve searching the web for resources related to your venture. Ever wonder which are the most popular/most visited sites in the world? In your own country or in any specific country of your choice? If you were given a specific site (for example "warriorforum"), do you know how popular is this site?

Fret not, the FREE resource is here! You can find all the above answers on the spot through an authority site called Alexa. It's ranking system is basing on the past 3 months' traffics of the entire web.

If you were to visit Alexa now, you will notice that the current top 5 global sites are:
1. Google.com
2. Facebook.com
3. Youtube.com
4. Yahoo.com
5. Blogger.com (no wonder blogging is so popular!)

In Singapore, the top 5 sites are:

1.Facebook.com
2. Google.com.sg
3. Google.com
4. Youtube.com
5. Yahoo.com

As for the specific site like warriorforum.com (which is the bible forum for Internet marketers), it has a global ranking of 192 and US ranking of 67 (see below), which is not too bad at all.

On top of such free real time information, you can register and incorporate the traffic widget into your site/blog to showcase your site/blog's Alexa ranking.
