If you are a webmaster or blogger that monetized your website/blog through ads placement, I am pretty sure that you are aware of the banner-fatigue syndrome that "plagued" the online space at the moment. In short, not many people will view or click on your banner ads anymore. Basing on the latest survey, the average click-through-rate (CTR) of the banner ad is less than 0.5%.
One of the new kid on the block that offer native advertising services (for both advertisers and publishers), ContentClick has recently done a survey and produced an infographic on the best online ad placement. Even though it is more relevant to the UK audience but I am of the view that this is a general sentiment across the board.
