SEO And Its Most Important Buddy – Content [Infographic]

content for seo
When come to SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Content is its most important buddy, this is especially prominent when the Search Giant, Google, implemented its latest Search Algorithm (Panda). Thus, there are more and more marketers (online or offline) are incorporating content marketing as part of their SEO strategy. To me, this is a fair game plan, as a user who search online almost everyday, what we expect the least is the search result with quality and relevant content.
On top of content, the other key element in SEO is social media. Yes, you hear me right, that’s where the phrase ” Social is SEO and Content is Social” come about. If you have not already know, the search giants (i.e. Google and Bing) already (or have plan to) integrate the Social sharing as part of their search ranking i.e.
“Bing uses Facebook Likes as ranking signal for logged-in users”
“Google is working on using Google +1 as a ranking signal”
“Tweets help Google index faster”
In short, when we talk about SEO nowadays, we need to include Content and Social Media as a a total SEO solution! Brafton has generated an informative Infographic to explore how content made a difference in search engine visibility. Check out the Infographic, Why Content For SEO below:

5 Lesser Known Social Media Sites That Might Make It Big!

Participating in Social Media or Social Networking sites should be a key element of your overall internet marketing plan, regardless of the size of your venture. With the recent global craze of smartphones/tablets adoption, the social media has already went one step further to become a "real time" social connection (i.e. the consumer is expecting super-fast response of their feedback/questions posted on the social media).

Of course, when come to social media, the giants like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Youtube and LinkedIn are the mainstream players (which are the must have for all internet marketers). Today, I am going to share 5 of the lesser known "new" kids on the block which some of them have potential to make it big, some day (you have been warned!):

1. Spling - Works something like StumbleUpon for user to share the interesting sites/blogs/medias. Following is the extract from the Spling official site :

We allow users to share any link with anyone in the single click of a button, while creating a repository where they can store and sort their favourite links. Users can share with friends, groups, or the community at large. Simultaneously, we allow the users to explore and consume Internet content filtered through their friends, families, and communities—the people they trust and care about—thus ensuring a guaranteed quality of content."

2. Unthink - A new social media platform that trying to achieve what facebook is doing, but with a tinge of unconventional tone! Following is the extract from the Unthink official site:

"UNTHINK is an all-in-one social media platform that enables you to connect with the world around you and collaborate with others to bring the change you want to see in the world.
It is a Community with a Shared Way of Thinking.
Our mission is to emancipate social media and unleash people’s extraordinary potential. Our -not so covert- mission is to spark a revolution that will change the world."

3. Folkd - Another platform work something like StumbleUpon i.e. for social bookmarking/searching the interesting sites/blogs. Following is the extract from the Folkd site:

"Using social bookmarks with folkd.com will enrich your web-surfing experience. We provide a simple website and easy to use browser buttons which allow you to:
- Save your favourite links and bookmarks online and access them from anywhere at any time.
- Press our "star"-button to vote up the best links on the web with just one click.
- Search the most popular links and discover cool sites your friends liked.
- Easily recommend the best sites to your friends via email, facebook or twitter.
- Connect to interesting users to follow their latest links.
- Search and organise your collection by tags and keep private things private!"

4. BuzzFeed - Another platform work something like StumbleUpon but with more sleek and bold user interface, it will definitely be more appealing to younger generation. Following is the extract from the BuzzFeed official site:

"BuzzFeed Tracks the Web’s Obsessions in Real Time

We feature the kind of things you’d want to pass along to your friends: an outrageous video that’s about to go viral, an obscure subculture breaking into the mainstream, a juicy bit of gossip that everyone at the office will be talking about tomorrow, or an ordinary guy having his glorious 15-minutes of fame. And when you read BuzzFeed, you’ll always know the movies, music, and products that are on the rise and worth your time."

5. Quora - Quora is a platform for learning and sharing whereby you can post a question or answering question posted by another members. Following is the extract from the Quora official site:

"Quora connects you to everything you want to know about. Quora aims to be the easiest place to write new content and share content from the web. We organise people and their interests so you can find, collect and share the information most valuable to you.

When you want to know more about something, Quora delivers you answers and content from people who share your interests and people who have first-hand knowledge -- like real doctors, economists, screenwriters, police officers, and military veterans. On Quora, it's easy to create a personalized homepage of everything you want to know about by following topics, questions, people and boards."

I am not implying that we need to get involved in all the above but it is important for internet marketers to be aware of what is happening in the social media space. Failing which, we will not know what we are missing out!

The Next Big Thing in IM : Google+

In Internet Marketing, social media or social network sites are an important piece of jigsaw puzzle to your overall internet marketing venture. Thus, it is a force that cannot be ignored. Soon, there will be another HUGE platform coming into picture and I am sure it will create a great impact to your internet marketing action.

Google+, is the answer to facebook by Google, the search engine giant! It is currently in intensive trial stage and stay tune for this forthcoming great thing. For sneak preview of what Google+ has to offer, do check-out my post below:

The Next Big Thing

I personally view that Internet Marketers can tap on the following features of Google+ to increase their visibility on this new social network and/or overall search ranking in Google:

1. Circles - Unlike Facebook, Circles allow you to easily group your friends into different circles so that you can share the pertinent message/information to selected circles only. It is beneficial for target marketing especially if you can incorporate your "list" as your circles!

2. Sparks - It allows you to search and save any articles, video, audio (or anything at all) of your interest so that you can read it later. Better still, you can share it with your friends or circles of friends. It is a great place to "promote" your website/blogs.

3. Hangouts - This is the platform for you and your friends to be on video chat while on the move. If it's taken off well, could be a potential platform for placement of ads or affiliate programs of your choice.

Enjoy your social media marketing venture and keep learning.

Twiends : Great Tool to increase your Social Media friends/followers

In Internet Marketing (IM), one of the most critical element that determines the success of your venture is targeted traffics. There are many ways (paid or free) to attract target traffics, of course, one of the effective way that comes to your mind is through Social Media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc...

However, in order to gain any success via the Social Media avenue, you need to have enough friends/fans/followers (whatever you called it). Recently, I chanced upon a marvellous tool called Twiends (don't be mislead by the name and it's logo, it's not only for twitter!) which will drastically increase your followers into multi-folds.

First, this tool it FREE to join. Secondly, this tool is very inuitive, simple and fun to use.

So, how does it works? Just follow the 6 simple steps below:
1. Register your Account and tag your Facebook and/or Twitter account to your ID (or you can log-in directly through your Twitter Account). You will get x number of seeds upon successful registration.
2. Select the country you are coming from.
3. Indicate up to 5 categories of your interests (e.g. Internet Marketing, Self Development etc...)
4. Next, it's action time, you can choose to view the random list of users from Facebook, Twitter or Youtube channel
5. Select whether you want the list to be filtered by country (i.e. from same country as you) OR with the same interest(s). [System will always display another separate random list for your consideration]
6. Every time when you follow/befriend a user, you will gain the indicated number of seeds. Of course, the reverse is true too i.e. whenever somebody follow/befriend you, your seeds will be reduced accordingly.
P/S: If you want to get more friends/followers within a shorter time, there is an option for you to buy "one-off purchase" or "monthly subscription package" to ensure that you have enough supplier of seeds for others to follow/befriend you!

Thats' it, from then on, just repeat steps 4 to 6 until you are happy with your friends/followers list.

Attached is the main screen of Twiends, click on the image below to explore further on this fantastic tool:

I hope you will find this tool is of help and do feel free to drop me a line or two in the comment on your review.

Cheers!
